There's a few of you, mainly srinath who have been giving me input on my low RPM stunbles issues since I rejetted and put on the pipes and airfilters.

Here's the short of it.  The bike would stumble really bad down real low. If you rolled on slow it would stumble up until about 4 grand and then pick up just fine.

Well yesterday I finally took the carbs apart and reset the floats.  they were down at about 12mm and I reset them within spec. The manual says between 13.6 and 15 mm i think.  I set them at 14mm because i didn't have verniers and only a mm ruler.  Had to bend the hell outta the tangs to get them to 14.  You need at least 4 hands to do this job by yourself.  Also reset the air/fuel mixture screws a little more accurately.

now the bike doesn't hesitate at all, doesn't try to buck me off if i drop below 3 grand, which is especially helpful in slow traffic.  haven't had a real chance to really open it up to make sure there's nothing weird up at the top end of hte rpms, but all i can say is  problem cured.

If anybody wants info on setting float heights I can try and help you out.

JakeD-getting your nipple pierced is not crazy. Killing a drifter to get an errection? Now that's crazy!

sounds like I'm having the exact same trouble.... but I know my floats are set correct... the fuel level is dead on the seam between float bowl and carb body...... might I Need to raise the needles??

But the fundamentals dont change much do they ...
OK you're stumbling Under 3K, but your floats are right. From there how did you jump to needles ??? he said he also set the air screw. So where is yours.

I'd like more details, what filter, pipe, pilots, mains etc etc then I could make some better guesses.

Cool.
