I'd have to agree with the zen master as far as looks go but to answer your question, don't know for sure but you could ask for measurements and then compare them to what you have or mounts for gs500f fairings.

So what year tail is commonly swapped on?  I have seen several gs's with an r1 tail....

I would totally do an R1 tail. You can pick up good plastics, lights, and the entire rear subframe for under 300 bucks on e-bay on a good day.

I, personally, would love to see a GS500 with an MV-Agusta rear clip swap w/4 point exhaust. Yes indeedy.

unless you has an F model with the fairing on than it will look to wide I have the same tail on my GS and with the fairings it looks fine
