There are allen screws around the cap, 4 of those will unscrew the cap, 3 are for decoration.

I think the cap must be unlocked to be removed when the screws come out.

That's the way I understand it, but I haven't tried it with the cap locked.

Read this recent post carefully:

They have to be unlocked to be removed from the tank, either with a key or pick it... if you know how. :icon_mrgreen:

Yeah, once upon a time i lost my keys and had to rekey my GS, all i care to say about that is PITA!  To get the tank lock out you have to pick or unlock it after freeing up the 4 allens, then it pulls right out.

Are you going to scrap the cap once you get it off? If so maybe you can drill out the lock part or use a screwdriver to unlock it??? You will damage the cap, but if it's trash anyway...save the time and grief and use brute strength!! :technical:

fred

Just take it to a locksmith. Any decent locksmith would be able to pop that thing open in no time flat. Also, if you haven't been able to get into the tank, how do you know it isn't made of rust?

I had to drill mine lol it actually went relatively smooth  :)
