Hi,

I am starting the wiring for my GS500 buggy which some of you may have seen and I have a question.

There are a whole load of orange wires, and a whole lot of black-white wires. Which is negative and which is positive?
Also, none of the wiring diagrams in the wiki match the colours of the wires on my GS. I have an '07 GS500F in Australia. Where can I get a relevant wiring diagram?

Thanks,
Andrew

Orange are switched positive (power).
Black and black/white are negative (ground).

Not sure what is on the Wiki. 04 should be the same as 07. Other countries will have some different wiring at the controls.

Common sense in not very common.

So all the orange wiring is switched power? I was looking for a wire to tap for my power outlet (cig lighter) that only worked with the key in and the bike running. Is it the same for 1990 GS's?

Thanks and sorry for the thread jack!

Should be. Best to double check a wire diagram to be sure.

Thanks very much dgyver. That wiring diagram seems to be correct.
