time to take him in?

Hey all got a quick question. Have been riding the bike alot so now I can't blame it on the inactivity. When I'm in first or neutral the bike is sticking at around 3500rpm. I really notice it when sitting at a red light. I know I know shouldn't sit at neutral but when I've got cars all around me stuck in traffic it helps to keep the cramping down. Also, my baby is a reptile I live in Fl so cold isn't that big a deal but geeze four to five mintues at full idle to get him going at 55 degrees.

I have a full-maintainance and warranty package for the bike. I've got about 2200 miles since the last time I took the bike in. Think I should take him back in now or wait. If I take him in what should I make sure they do?

Is your choke lever pushed all the way to the "off" position?

If so, is the choke rail sliding all the way to the "off" position on the carbs?

If so, adjust your idle after riding around a few miles using the big knob that hangs down between the carbs.  :)
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

ditto the choke stuff.

if you get a chance to ride over to tampa, visit Pure Acceleration. They're a small shop, very helpful, and folks with carbs (the horror in sportbike world !) hang around occasionally. :)

Well, the clutch lever is bent don't know if that is the culprit. A friend of mine and myself tweaked a bit with the choke any lower it dies any higher it acts like its on meth or crack. How do I know if the clutch lever is on or off?

Should it be serviced? Oddly enough my bike doesn't burn oil (usually don't get above 8k rpm). It still looks good. BTW some nice person did hit the bike a couple of days ago and it fell 3/4 of the way down. Tree saved it from serious damage small scratches etc.

Thanks for the help!

Too bad all you people live a thousand miles away...I love trying to figure this stuff out...usually...

First check the obvious...choke rail and air leaks (big culprit)
Second, properly set your idle
Lastly, balance the carbs

If that doesn't cure your problem then we need to get inside the carburetors.

If you have full maintenance and warranty service, just take the bike in.

Yeah, I think that is pretty much where I'm at. Even though I love wrenching and what not. I'm really just to sick and weak and right now is my primary source of transportation since someone cut a four foot hole in the convertible and stole everything.

Now what shall I tell them to take an extra look at?
