Clutch Problem?

I've just started to have problems with my clutch when I pull it in all the way. When I do this the HIGH BEAM comes on!

WTF is wrong with my bike. It happens when I pull the clutch in all the way, no matter what speed im going, when I release the clutch the high beam goes off. This is pretty bad when night riding near other cars on the road as i blind them with this stupid issue. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this or what is causing it?

Sounds like a weird ground to me?  But I am not really sure?  :dunno_white:

Check your grounds and any wiring to the high beam switch for shorts.

Cant find any problems with the wires, thinking I might take it down to the local suzuki shop and get them to take a look at it.

Yeah, your high beam switch and clutch interlock switch are right next to each other, I'd check at the grip first and I bet you'll either find some weird ground, or some random piece of conductive material floating around in there... Perhaps the spring from your turn signal switch... I once went to the junkyard to see if I could pick up a new switch cluster that had a working turn signal spring and all 20 of the clusters they had in their box had the same broken spring the one on my bike already had...

So should I take apart the black box thing near my clutch where the high beam, indicator switch and horn switch are and try to find a solution?

It is highly likely that is where the problem is... I've never taken one apart, so I don't know the degree of difficulty, but if it were my bike, I'd take it apart...

I'd dig into it if it were me.... 

After I installed my garage door opener button, the horn beeped when I turned the key on.  I tapped the horn button and it stopped.  I just shrugged and thought I had gotten it jammed a bit when I reassembled the switch box.  Then it beeped a short beep a few days later, just when I turned the key.  Hmmmm.  Then about a week later, when I hit the starter button, it HONKED and wouldn't stop.  By the time I gave up and turned the key off all the dogs in the neighborhood were barking! 

I found that the screw holding the turn signal switch lever pivot in place was touching a solder connection on the horn switch.

Im glad my problem was only the light and not the horn then, cant imagine how annoying that would of been.  :laugh:

As for my problem, its fixed all thanks to moving the clutch back a fraction. Stupid me  :embarrassed: didnt see that when i pull the clutch in all the way that it hits the other high beam switch (yellow switch thing). Just had to undo the clutch and move it back a bit and im laughing. As for the black box thing, taking it apart is easy, its only three screws holding it together with a little spring.

No problem, I'm glad you fixed it. I hadn't considered the pass switch... My bike doesn't have one. I don't really see the use of a passing switch to flash the lights, but I think it would be cool to repurpose the switch to do something interesting, like trigger the garage door opener.

Now that is an idea that is worth doing, didnt think of changing the pass switch.... I could of wired it up to my neons, why didnt i think of doing that  :mad:.... Next time then  :D
