Anyone ever replace an oven element?

I have a whirlpool rs630pxv and the element just burned up on it.  We need a new one.  But I can't find one out there...I've found a few that look like the element that came out, but I've never replaced an oven element before and don't know if there's a difference in any of them.

Maybe some of you guys know something I dont...

Mak they usually have wires that Plug onto spade Terminals.You'll probably have to pull the back off,Unplug the Wires and unscrew the brackets on the inside.

the elements themselves just pull in and out of their respective plugs unless i'm mistaken. not sure about differences exactly between them other than size. to be safe, i'd try extremely hard to find an exact replica of your stove and get a salvage element. unfortunately, i don't know of any "appliance" salvage yards, unlike cars etc. best of luck though!

aye ive got a double electric oven this happened to was a pain in the ass to find two elements for. but i ofund em, of all places on ebay about a year ago. but the thing has sentimental reasons for me doing this. it was my grandmothers. if it were nto, i would have scrapped it

Usually the elements just unplug from a socket, so it's an easy swap.  I don't know if you need a specific element for your model, or if there is a 'generic' one-size-fits-most element at a hardware store???

Remember to unplug the oven from the wall before you futz with it.

Should be a very simple and fast fix.  I did one years ago.   Pull out the old one, plug in the new one.

That was just a quick google.   Check around the internet with your exact model number.  But you should be able to get one locally at a family-owned appliance store.   Sears used to be a good source too, but that was years ago.

I accidentally found a parts warehouse here in Lubbock that has the element in stock.  I just got to get the missus over there sometime before 5pm.

I think I've got it under control
