ok in the past month I put on:

-rear brake rotor *EBC (new) www.bikebandit.com
-rear caliper *OEM (new) "
-brake pads *EBC (new) "
-clip on off an 89 GS (used) from Malcman on gstwins
-grips *Progrip (new) http://www.kenscycle.com/ and www.progrip.com
-Bar ends *proteck (new) www.kenscycle.com
-Cafe style Fairing *EMGO (new) www.kenscycle.com
-stainless steel socket head bolts to replace most all of the bolts .

The biggest pain I had was getting the ignition off the triple .. they attach it with some kinda of worthless bolt that I had to drill out to get off, I replaced them with stainless socket head bolts.

I was not looking for that fairing I put on but it was a decent price and it happend to be there so I bought it.

it went from this

Oh and any opinions on the fairing are greatly appreciated. I am not sure weather I like it or not yet.

Nothing against your fairing specifically, I just don't like how they look in general.

I think it might look bettter if you leave the windshield as is and paint the lower part red to match the bike though.

agreed... I need to fit the fairing closer but its been a little bit of a trick trying to fit it just right. I might go back 100% naked again just trying it all out.

I really like the red paint job!  As for the fairing, I personally prefer the naked.  Also, one thing that is distracting me is the rust on the exhaust.. Have you considered getting it sandblasted and repainted?  That would be a greater aesthetic improvement IMHO than with/without fairing.

I have sand blasted and painted it... this is the 3rd time. im going to make a stainless one sometime.

I agree, the exhaust is the greatest distraction from what you're trying to accomplish.  I think cleaning that up will help the look quite a bit.  The rims look like they could use some touching up too.  Did you just buy a new tank and plastics, or did you paint that yourself?  I'm usually not big on multi-color schemes, but it looks good!  :thumb:

I agree that you should try and pain the bottom of the front fairing... if it stilllooks stupid, justremove it... It may look cool painted  :dunno_white:

other than that, and yea, the exhaust.... Looks GREAT!

Nice work

BTW im not looking for a pretty shiny bike, those were never my intentions and I just bought the plastics and tank like that I never did repaint the bike. this bike see's all weather conditions all year long.

you mean painted exhaust like this ? lol you know I just gave up trying to keep it pretty

The bike looks good, but you HAVE to get rid of the dome
.

fred

Very nice looking. I like that paint job a lot.

Go figure bro,  As far as I can tell, there are only 2 GS's in the RIC and they have the same paint job  :thumb:

Now you know what to look for when your riding around Richmond.

Bike looks pretty good here!

You know what I like most in all these pictures though?  Blue skies, sunshine and grass!!!  Not that I have any deep down desire to mow my lawn, but it'd be nice to see it again!

I take it you are from richmond too? I dont know how anyone could miss me in richmond, loudest bike ever and a lane splitting over the speed limit speeding rider with a bright red Joe Rocket Jacket haha

Yeah hear you about the exhaust.  I'm gonna pull mine soon but first I'm gonna purchase new flanges and bolts.  Better safe then sorry.  And if you think your GS is the loudest in Richmond I might have to challange for that title.  Loser buys the first round.  See you around town.

I live a bit north of there, but work in the West End.

I'm still piecing mine back together, so it's really, really, really quiet...
