I know the 650 is what some might call the mightier bike, I have owned 3. However I have the ability to pick up a mint condition gs500 naked for VERY low price.

Comparing the 2 bikes physically from suzuki's own specs, they are very similar. Seat height is a little lower on the gs500 by .3 inches, and I could gain that with an sv650 shock on the back of the gs500.

Basically, compared to the naked sv, will the naked gs be really cramped, or do they compare size wise?

Power I know I will be down on, and thats ok, as my gf rides a cbr125, but for just pissin around, I think for the price, i would like the gs. I owned one a long time ago, but so long ago I cannot compare sizes in my head.

Thanks for the help

Hi, my names newbie, how are you?

I was going to reply over on SVrider, but might as well here.  heh

The GS is likely the more comfortable for the two.  Bar to seat spacing is about the same, but the pegs are much higher on the SV.

Don't know about the 1st gen seat, but the 2nd gen seat, when shaved, is more comfortable than the GS seat as far as shape, but harder.  MUCH harder.

Seat height and bike width will probably feel about the same.

The GS feels a little heavier than the SV.

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

well i was gonna give you a picture comparison, because my roommate's sv650 is sitting right next to my bike, but i'm pretty sure my bike was lowered before i bought it because the seat is wayyyy lower than his, at least like 3-4 inches. i'm gonna check on that.
