Wow, that is impressive carnage. You should hang that rod on your wall and look at it every time you feel like doing another dyno run or any time you wonder if you should check your oil or not...

can you not SMELL when your running lean...


maybe im old school but i dont need so stinking computer or dyno to tell me if im THAT lean...

Actually, with all the air flow, and hearing protectors in, no, I couldn't tell it was that lean.  No pinging at idle or under load, no odd smell, made all the right noises, just suddenly faded on top.  It was a new combo, guessed at the jetting based on a prior build, and was way off.  Head was salvageable, got the data I wanted which proved out my friend's porting, so it worked out for me as far as I'm concerned.
