Carbs spittin???

Ive recently been having problems with my carbs, it all started after sum prick drove into the side of me on a roundabout, anyway the bike runs gd for about 10 minute then it jus dies, the carbs were spitting fuel back into the airbox, iv now adjusted the floats as they was set at 9 mm and my book says they shud be between 13.6 and 15.6, dun that and now the left hand side one is still spittin but not spitting fuel out, its just like bangin, also theres a tapping sound cummin from the left side of the engine, cud this be sumthing to do with the valves?????? need help fast i havnt even got any money to top the fuel up that i have left so takeing it to a mechanic is out of the question. thnks

WTF is a roundabout?  :dunno_white:  And if you don't have money for another fill-up, why do you care if it runs?  Get the A-hole driving the roundabout, whatever the hell that is, to pay for the damage, or else!  :2guns:

have you lived under a bridge all your life? a roundabout is a circular intersection that is used to speed up traffic where a 4 way stop would really slow things down, every has a yield sign.

Its going through the insurance now, howeva im only getting half what i should be because there was no witnesses, it happend in tea time traffic on a very busy rbout jus shows how people over here dnt giv a f%$k they jus wanna get home as fast as they can, they guy was driving a 4x4 and he hit me not the bike but the bike went dwn with such force it twisted ma bars into the tank and smashed ma headlight and clocks, the bikes now dwn as a right off but iv fixed the main things so its road worthy but now im jus havin this trouble with the engine its drivin me fuckin mad... >:(

My guess here is that it's something to do with vacuum or air-leakage. Your best bet is to get a couple carb rebuild kits and take them off and rebuild them... all gaskets... you may also want to inspect your petcock, tank shutoff and also the breather hose at the bottom of the tank... blow through it and ensure that air is getting into the tank, otherwise if it's clogged (dirt, water, etc) your tank will not drain properly due to it being air-tight.

So, you'd be running off the fuel in the lines for 10 mins, then bog like you're running out of gas cuz your tank isn't draining properly.
