The bad...

Crack in windshield. Does not interfere with view.
Idle control valve needs to be removed, cleaned, and reinstalled.
Will need new tires soon (215/65 15).
Driver's side rear door does not open from the inside.
Passenger side front window regulator needs to be replaced (I'm looking for one and will install it).
Hood is black, not great looking paint but a good job that will not peel for a while.
Facia is primered. Some light oxidation is starting to show. I never got a chance to paint it.
Front bumper is damaged.
Clear coat flaking on rear bumper.
A few small dents.
Tint is damaged on passenger front window and rear window.
Cruise control works more often than not, but sometimes just doesn't work.
Center console leather worn and torn.
Leather on steering wheel worn.
Air conditioning does not function (needs condenser [included] installed, system evacuated, and recharged...134 system).
Car will not include a headunit, but has very nice Harmon Kardon components all around.

The good:

New cam position sensor. ($108)
New vanos solenoid.
New O2 sensors. ($109 x 4)
New plugs 3000 miles ago.
New 3" race radiator, fan delete.
New ball joints.
New brake pads and sensors.
ZKW ALL GLASS headlights (no haze or fog...EVER). Projector low beam, excellent for HID conversion.
Remus stainless steel catback.exhaust.
New fluid in transmission and rear end.
New injectors <20,000 miles ago.

Car is a 1996 BMW 328i four-door sedan. M52 2.8 liter inline 6 cylinder engine mated to a Getrag 5-speed manual transmission. Car is Montrealblau over Dove Grey leather. Car has <220,000 miles on chassis, less than 100,000 on motor. Strong compression across the board. Suspension is in good condition...still handles all the nonsense around Lubbock with ease. Handles beautifully! Idle control valve needs to be cleaned...symptoms of this are difficult starting and rough idle while cold, and odd "burbles" at warm idle. Engine pulls beautifully from idle all the way to redline and sounds amazing doing it with the Remus M3 catback exhaust (is somewhat loud approaching high RPM, but is very tolerable and modest in the city). Transmission shifts smoothly with no catches between gears. No driveline noise.

Concerning her physical appearance: I moved to Lubbock with a very nice, straight-body BMW. After being here for three months, someone parked a Dodge Ram on my hood. My wife has lived in Lubbock for a few years and had her own car hit and damaged numerous times during her stay. I took this into consideration and chose not to worry about trying to make my then 12-year old car look perfect again, and it was a good decision as, not another two months later, I was hit again...repeating the damage. The hood, fascia, headlights, radiator, supporting steel, A/C condenser, bumper, lower engine shroud, and a few other things were damaged or destroyed. All were replaced, except the bumper, with functional parts but, as said, I didn't bother having them paint-matched to the car. Family expenses were more important. The headlights were upgraded, though, with ZKW all-glass projectors. Some surface rust started appearing on the hood so I pulled it and shot it with the only paint I had on hand: gloss black. The safety catch mechanism was damaged and was thus removed. The hood is secured via two manual external pin-style latches. The look is still functional and operated from the cabin, so people can't just come up and get under your hood. All the coolers and hydraulic fan were damaged. The radiator I replaced with a 3" aluminum race-style radiator. There is no fan, and a fan is not needed (no cooling issues at all...actually takes a while to get to operating temps during the winter). She will need a new catch-can for the coolant overflow: I'm using a 20oz bottle and after spirited driving or whenever I have to idle in traffic on hot days for extended periods of time the bottle will overflow and spill a few ounces of coolant on the ground after the car has shut down. A/C condenser needs to be installed and the system evacuated and recharged: was working beautifully prior to the cooler being smashed.

I'd feel comfortable driving this car anywhere between Fourth and Frankford to Albany, NY and Seattle WA.

Car comes with 15" factory bottle-cap wheels, but I will sell it with 17" E46 M3 wheels and good Kumho Ecsta tires for an additional $400 or in trade for a set of 17" wheels and good tires on a 5X114.3mm lug pattern and ET40~ish offset.

Car is $3500 firm. I'm not a haggler or negotiator. This is the price. I will consider personal financing but my terms can be steep. I am fully willing to assist with shipping the car. I will not under any circumstance accept a cashier's check.

I will update with pictures tomorrow. The car desperately needs cleaning. Feel free to call for appointment to view car.

You'll have to forgive the dirty car...I only had time to hose the outside off before the baby needed my attention more...

slight confusion on my end here...
you have E46 M3 wheels for this car also? along with stock 15" wheels and the E46 330i sport package wheels that are on the car in the pictures?

I suppose the ones shown are sport package wheels just as well as M3 wheels...BMW pretty well gives you lots of options when it comes to wheels.  The 2001 M3 came with the "sport package" wheels shown above as the standard trim.  The split 10-spoke wheels weren't available until 2002, but still had the same wheels listed as standard trim...dealers didn't pre-order them that way, though, because bigger wheels were the fad.
