Still have a bday gift from parents, what are your thoughts on this jacket?

They don't allow mesh at my upcoming track class. In fact, they were iffy about letting me use my current jacket. I had to do this mock up to show them how much was mesh vs. leather. Even with leather covering all the impact zones, they weren't really happy about it. Eventually, they did said it was okay, if I was willing to assume the risk. I'm still seeing if I can find a full leather jacket before trackday.

Mesh gear... meh, it has an iffy record.  Leather is the best protection from abrasion.  I've found perforated leather to vent well and keep the sun off of me, which helps reduce fatigue in hot weather.

I guess that is why I like my GXAIR. It has leather in the main impact zones back, shoulders, and elbows. I don't think I could handle an all leather jacket down here. I got heat exhaustion twice when riding all day around town and in I-4 traffic. I now also have the hydration bladder in my recon 19 tank pack. Have I mentioned I love this pack? That's where the Axxo helps. Many think that the under armor material that "holds" it together won't work in a slide. Whilst not been in a slide hope I never am but the material isn't what holds it together it's the strap system you strap the arm in two places, it has a better back protector than most jackets (foam) and it articulates with a lower back strap, the shoulders attach to the chest plate which almost all jackets do not have (can't imagine sliding on my chest oh my boobs  ). If you want you can take out the back protector I don't see why you would want to! So yeah for summer I use the axxo!
