I didn't get a chance to do everything I wanted, but I don't really care....  My fender eliminator and LED lights were the main goal.

VIDEO CLIP: Strobe lights in the brake lights for safety.

I've only had the R6 out Sat and Sun, but I assume that police won't give me a hard time about it....  considering I had this on my GS and my previous R6:

I got 4 9" LED strips at HarborFrieght:

I had to custom make my own wire harness 'cause I wanted the cleanest install I could.  Each strip $8. Switch was from Radioshack for $3.

Yeah.  The KnightRider LED module I posted above definitely was an eyecatcher, but when the brakes were not activated, the light would go back and forth...  I noticed too many people were STILL tailgating....  but only to see what was moving back and forth.  It certainly did it's job of making me seen.  lol

I'll try to get a better video clip once the weather warms up again.  It SNOWED today.  :(

Yeah.  There's an entrance to the Mass TurnPike in Chicopee that has that too.  That's where I got the idea from.

it really does get your attention. of course, the one in the stoplight is much more powerful/brighter than the one on your bike, but same concept i see you got. hope it works. can't hurt right?  :thumb:

Now did you actually put the strobe IN the tail light or mount it behind so its flashing around the tail?  I think this would be an AWESOME idea.  How did you wire it up?  Does it come in whenever you hit the brakes or is it always on?

Thanks,

Nick

I had to drill two holes to mount the srobe tubes INSIDE the taillight...  just like on a police vehicle.  Taillights have 3 wires: ground, constant on(running), and momentary on (brake).  I just hooked the strobe unit into the ground like normal, but the power wire gets spliced into the momentary on wire.  When the brake is activated, it turns on the strobe as well.

Oh ... Thank god its a bike.
I saw An's post and he was showcasing and its a long winter ... so naturally I expected to see ... well lots and lots of dead kittens.
In fact I was waiting for this to get reported and I'd tard it without even opening it. I accidentally opened it.
An - you need to title your posts better. This is too much room for imagination.
Cool.
