Yesterday before i went for my ride i swapped headlight bulbs and the harness was a plastic crunchy melted mess.  I just put the contacts back on the bulb and made sure it operating properly but i have to find a new harness to wire in and i am not buying a plastic one it i don't have to.  Is this a common occurrence and if so would wiring a ceramic harness in harm anything, i don't think it would but for piece of mind I ask anyway.

PS: This was on my GSXR headlight, which was a PITA to get to anyway, cause some jackhole of a previous owner used lock tight on the two retaining allen screws for the gauge cluster when they put in the attention grabbing, i don't need to see where i'm going cause i don't ride at night colored light.

One of the plugs on my TLR headlight melted. It was from corrosion creating an increase in resistance. I bought a couple of standard plastic connectors online to replace it. Used some electrical grease on the connections and never had another problem.
Common sense in not very common.
