.....sort-of......actually i just cut the muffler off and welded on a downturn, kinda ghetto but cool for now until i get a real exhaust.

actually i expceted it to sound pretty bad but instead it sounds pretty sick. real throaty and real loud......aaalmost harleyish......almost lol

this was a pretty spur of the moment idead and a newb move that didn't turn out too bad except for the part that i forgot that the peice the centerstand rests on that keeps it from going up too far and hitting the chain is connected to the muffler....so the chain rubs against the centerstand now. gonna have to fab a piece that will stop that from happening i guess.

i'll try and get some pics and sound-bites up this weekend.

I'm pretty sure the feds regulate emissions hardware, and cutting a muffler off violates said regulation.  Not giving legal advice, but ...

No emissions test here in Iowa. I've seen cars here with only downpipes driving around and some rust buckets without mufflers or cats at all.

I did a similar thing to a Rebel 450, and sold it to my local sheriff no probs. 
Friday nights I would ride along the fancy part of tampa, by the ferrari and lambo valet, rev it up and set off their alarms.  silly I know, but that's how I met the sheriff.

i'm sure there are some sort of regulations, but you should see the poor excuses for cars that are driven around here with smoke pouring from the exhaust, busted windows, and parts barely hanging on. I wouldnt be surprised if global warming issues were directly caused by one of these rolling piles of crap.

this doesn't mean i'm right, and like i said, this is just until i can fab a real exhaust system.
