Have  you checked the float heights since the episode began?

A stuck float, or crap under the needle would cause a sudden and extremely rich mixture.  I would also cause fuel to pee out the carb drains if your petcock was left on "prime" after shutdown.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?
