I had been pushing the limits of the set of bt-45's on my bike. As i commute 100+ miles a week, my rear was nice and square. With 8500 miles on the set, i replaced the front in stock size and put a 140/17 on the rear. I made multiple runs up and down mulholland dr to scrub in the new tires. They felt slick for the first few miles but it quickly passed. By the end of the second run back i was pushing the bike to the end of my abilities with around 75 miles on the tires. I can clearly see the use of the tire down to about half an inch on each side of the rear where it has not made contact with the road. The machine handles so much better its shocking. I'm more confident and feel very stable fast corners. Correct tire shape, getting my butt off the side of the bike, and forceful counter steering has renewed my interest in motorcycling. Its been months since I've taken a ride just for the fun of it. Now i cant wait for next weekend.

That road is actually pretty mellow compared to some of the roads out here. Its a nice though as it runs along the top of the hollywood hills & through the santa monica mountains. Plus the starting point is a few blocks down from my apartment... I dont have to drive anywhere to go on a drive.  :)

I live less than 4 miles away from you! I've got to go on that ride at some point in the near future. I spend almost all my riding time commuting, which is way better than driving, but it means that I never get to go ride the fun roads like Mullholland...

Do you go to any of the local shops for parts? I always find myself at Honda of Hollywood, but I've always wondered if there's a better place to get stuff. They're cool and all, but they never have GS parts and it always takes a week to order stuff...

Yeah no kidding. You're going on and on about how great they are but never mention the name. I'm thinking about Avon Azaros
