I need a good condition GS500 cylinder head. Also willing to buy a  complete motor if its cheap enough. . I'd also appreciate it if you can atleast point me to someone or some place where i can get it cheap. I bought my 01 GS500 for $750 and im not willing to put a lotta money into it. I just want to ride it for a year or so and get something bigger. I'm in Houston, TX btw. Thanks in advance.

Id give you mine...but i'm at school and the head is at home... so id try jet boy if your in a hurry. Anyway, id even ship it free but you would have to wait till i go home.

jetboy, i don't want to lowball you. Like i said, i bought the bike as a toy and i don't plan to invest much into it. If the head is in good working condition and it doesn't need any machine work or reconditioning to work properly, please tell me how much I have to pay including shipping and we will see if the price is good enough for me to get it.

Weston, I'm not in a hurry and i don't mind waiting. When do you think you will get a chance to ship it out? Thanks for the very generous offer.

Just for clarification, this head has no valves in it, and was taken out because of bent valves... the valve guides and seats are fine the best i can tell... So really it should be all good except for a scratch on the gasket surface which i don't know if its big enough to cause a problem. Ill see if i can get it back over easter, if not probably around mid may.

No hurry but get with me for sure, I am currently contemplating ... larger valves in this head, some decking (enough to get that gouge out I suppose), then put stiffer springs and lighter and larger valves and over bore the GR put some forged pistons in it and throw the GS head on it. I almost think the restriction for the 8500 rpm is the damn valves. I should get 9500 with lighter valves and better pistons without losing any reliability.

So yea werase - your dream of the GS headed GR in GS frame is comming true. The GR has so much power it will downright shock you. But no revs = cruiser ... not any more ... once I am through with it it will rev like a turbine and scream like a banschee.
