Is there really that much difference?  I would think that at speed the difference would  be negligible. ---In traffic I guess the fairing would impede the cooling process somewhat, but would it be enough to warrant stripping down for the hot summer months.

I know what you're going to say; Just quit fretting about the damned thing and ride it.

Your assignment for this weekend is to put 500 miles on your GS.

You must do this before you read (much less post to) the board again.

Stop fretting and go ride the dang thing. Now. Go. DO it. Not Later. Now.  :icon_rolleyes:

At least I didn't ask if it would be beneficial to add an extra large oil cooler and a fan----------------Would It?

If I were you I would...

"Because it seems to be an easy retrofit, adds oil capacity, and the bike is run in a hot climate. I'm a believer in cool oil."-----Borrowed this line from a recent thread... :thumb:

I know, I saw that one----seems even funnier now. I think it would also be  fairly easy to retrofit  a compartment to hold an extra battery for the express purpose of running a large capacity fan.

Don't forget the extra alternator (generator?) to charge the extra battery. By the time you were finished might as well install an SV650 engine to lug around all the extra weight.

Hey, that's a great idea-----do you think it will fit, or will need to do some extensive retrofitting?

Don't worry about it, just ride it. Check the oil on some kind of regular basis and you'll be fine. The weather will get too hot for you before it will get too hot for the bike.

Even that isn't really a benefit once the temperature goes over 100....
