That's a nice, simple dash, Cstilt.  I'd like to retain the analogs, but thanks for the picture. 
If everyone plays along, this could turn into an accumulation of various dash designs, instead of the few random posts scattered throughout the forum history. 
They're all variations on the same component, of course, but perhaps it could inspire someone (cough... cough...*Buddha*... cough... cough) to develop something pretty attractive.  (Cough... cough... perhaps in a kit, with new idiot lights... cough... cough...)

That's actually pretty sweet.  Any details on installation, etc?

It was pretty simple. The only thing I had to make was the black piece the guages are setting on. I traced the bottom portion of the stock gauges on a piece of aluminum. Then just cut out for the key swith and drilled and painted it.  The wiring wasn't bad either. That model has a couple features i can't use like a gas gauge and coolant temp.  The rest of the lights are really straight forward. Just match up with the stock ones. Except the turn signals.  It's set up so you can tell if your right or left one is one so you run a couple extra wires. Oh, you have to run two power  wires. One on with the switch and the other is a constant on to keep the memory.  Hardest part of the entire install was the speedo-cable. It runs off a sensor I attatched to the front fender and reads off a magnet glued to the front wheel.
Overall it has a lot of nice features. Dual trip meters, tach, odometer, volt meter, shift light, and probably something I'm not remembering. So far I enjoy it a good bit.

wladziu, thanks for the compliment. I actually really liked my stock gauges but had to replace them after I kinda wrecked. This was cheaper than factory gauges with more functions. Glad to hear you're going the Buddha route, I'm going to get a Kat FE from him myself.

Come on now you know that stuff don't work around here you gotta search everywhere for each small snippit of information. That's how you earn you valves here! Remember trying to get an area for gear. Uhm, yeah I've seen in the past two days one for helmets and one for tank bags if we had an area for gear they could just scroll through the items an voila! oh hey that rapid transit is a sweet tank bag or oh my goodness I'm never gonna get that GPX helmet!

I kinda did the CF look on my bezel kinda gave it a different look but would like a way to dress it up!

Still can't find the photo that someone posted of a very nice, simple dash lay-out, using LED's with small bezel rings around them.  I think it was out of brushed aluminum.  If you find it, please post it.  
There was talk of someone making one out of CF, but it faded away into obscurity.  I'm sure people would love to have one, but they'd probably cost $5 e6 like the CF rear huggers.  


GeeP, I've got no idea what people are interested in.  Apparently, I'm not a very "cool" person, or whatever the current terminology. 
The digital stuff is more than I want to spend, at the moment. 
Personally, I just want something better than the over-priced piece of crap that Suzuki pulled out of the parts bin.

I've been hoping to find a picture of a turned dash.  Small diameter like that, since we're not working with a lot of surface area. 
My ideas are limited to turned, brushed, CF, powdercoated (mono-chromatic, metal-flake, and splatter effect), and simple lacquered.  (Please, no pictures of diamond-plate motorcycle parts, folks.)
What am I missing?  I know there's something, I just can't put my finger on it. 



My laptop with Solidworks installed was stolen, or I'd toss up the idea for what I want.  
D@mn, I really need to get another copy of that program.  


Gotta find some way of hiding the scuffs and scratches on my brand new plastic gauge housing now, also.  Stupid sign pole.

The woods used are Walnut and Maple.

The blades are precision ground O-1 tool steel, the heels brass, the locking plates 4130.

Finish is Tung Oil.

Aluminum diamond plate...  LOL  The only thing it's good for is fire trucks.

Dunno about that one, the tach only goes to 3000 rpm The pyrometer and oil temp are good, and I'm gonna love seeing your air brake & air suspension conversion. Of course, you might be going for the diesel and 20 speed transmission, too...

I have something in mind, but it won't be built for a while yet, if ever. Too much else on my plate.

Not even a sketch, yet. My thinking is driven a bit by having the factory 1/4 fairing or cowling for my year, which I frankly think is a poorly designed/made hunk of junk, but not a bad look if it were not a hunk of junk. It's also driven by frequent requests here (post crunch, usually) for plates, gauge buckets, high beam lenses, etc - and not too much personal affection for the "two bucket gauge look"...

Oh heck, now I've gone and done it. The oil reflects two thoughts - small like others, big becasue it's a BIG DEAL to not have oil pressure. Other small lights could be bigger. Could be grouped closer rather than spread across whole top. Volts and gear (well, you can figure it's gear, I hope) are just a couple of different possibilities for ways to do those sorts of things...as drawn looks graphically bad (they disagree).  I have not checked the actual size of the popular bicycle computer for getting a true speed reading to see if it actually fits there. etc...



I'm thinking a plate replacement, which has holes/spaces for left turn, neutral, oil, high beam, right turn across the top, either using small LEDs or normal "12V indicator lights" (LED or not, somewhat bigger.) The left/right turn is both personal preference, and ease of doing it with LEDs. The big holes for the gauges, a little extra real estate for things like bike computer for accurate speed, voltmeter or ammeter, clock/watch, ?? (personally, gear indicator is not likely - oil temp would be nice, but I don't know that I'll bother.)

Behind that, one of: a monopod bucket to cover all that wiring, or a more complete bucket and micro-fairing, including the headlight (and adding all its wiring) and enough windshield to at least keep the rain off the gauges if it comes straight down (which the factory one I have does not - some others appear to be better - you can review old posts (sometime last summer or fall) to see a fuller discussion of different "factory" fairings).
