Up for sale is my 2001 GS500, which I have had for almost a year, and I have put about 4500 miles on it in that time. It now has about 20,500 miles. In the last year I have installed a new rear tire, new chain, and soon will have a +1 jet kit installed (purchased from Buddha on this forum). The previous owner put in a Uni foam filter, so I wanted the bigger jets to richen up the mixture a bit and even things out. The jets have already been ordered, so even though I am selling the bike, I figure I might as well install them for the next owner. Other than the filter and jets, everything else is stock. The tires are Pirelli Sport Demon and the chain is a Regina O-Ring.

Only reason I am selling is because I found an immaculate 1985 Honda Nighthawk S, and I just don't want to pass it up. I already have a 1990 Honda VTR250, and that one is also too clean and original to sell. That will make 3 bikes for me, and I only have room for 2

I am asking $2000 OBO. After I install the jets a few days from now, I will post it on Craigslist. Just wanted to give you guys the first bite  ;)

Just a couple questions mate:
1. seems like the blue high beam lens on the dash fell off and you put something else there...what did you use?? can't tell very well from the pic. It might be a good suggestion for other people on the forum, since that little friggin' blue lens tends to fall off more often than not. :technical:
2. ...is that a bicycle bell I see on the bars? :icon_mrgreen:

Anyway good luck with the sale, nice bike you have there ;)
cheers

1 - Yes, the blue high beam lens did fall off, and i covered it with blue masking tape. I cut out two small circles and then taped them over the hole. Worked great and gave off a blue light again, until the bulb went out :( I forgot to mention that in the ad, thanks for pointing it out.

2 - Yes, that is a bicycle bell on the handlebars :) wasn't planning on including it in the sale, unless the buyer really wants it!

Just an update, in the interest of selling this as a "needs nothing" motorcycle, I am replacing the high-beam bulb before sale. Not sure if that will sweeten the deal for anyone  ;)

Highbeam indicator now works. Bike is on Craigslist... price dropped to $1900. New jets have not been installed, I will sell the bike with them. Instead I just put one washer on the needle.

Ok the idle on the bike is not quite right, and I thought I could fix it, but it doesn't appear that a carb synch will do it. It may be the valves.... the bike is not really for sale until I figure this out

This is pretty much the exact bike I've been looking for.

And you are essentially local (I'm in MD)

ah. Why did I have to get a paycut?  :2guns:

I might be interested in buying it even with the idle issues, I imagine I would be able to fix it.
