gsf (bandit) 600 opinions ?

so, those of you that have actually wrenched, owned or ridden a gsf 600/1200... what is your opinion of it ?

comments about "oh god it's ugly" or "I heard it's heavy, slow, and useless" won't help much.

 I love the looks/sound of the newer 1200's and from what I hear at work they are fantastic for touring. I rode a used 03? I think it was? with Yosh pipes, hard bags and all the bling just the other day and I loved it... fantastic bike!

If I had the $$ I would buy one over most any other bike. (except my dream Triumph =)  There are also TONS of aftermarket parts available for them even a TURBO !!!.

  Thats my favorite thing about buying my Honda Shadow... Unlike the GS, you can actualy buy TONS of aftermarket stuff for it

Before my GS500, I owned a beautiful black 2006 GS650-S Bandit. It was such a great bike with power and looks and I'd still have her today if not for she who must be obeyed.

Never owned one, just sat once on an ex-colleague's Bandit 600 S - the old SACS-engined one, now they have fuel injection and water cooling. But whatever I heard about them was good. Just a bit heavy, BTW it's meant to be a cruiser/tourer, not a sportsbike.
IIRC UK mod Cal Price has a naked GSF 650, maybe he'll chime in and give you more advice.
As for me the B650 is 2nd place on my "what to replace the GS with, one day" list. 1st place is (oh how original I am ) the SV650.
