Sebulba

That's a hot looking 400, Sebulba! Nice.

If it's anything, it't not hot looking, but thanks anyway ;)

The problem is that the previous owner left it exposed to the elements for more than a year. You should see what my exhaust lookele like last year, rusted beyond belief. Also, the paint is 16 years old, chipped and damaged, again.
The good thing is that one of the previous owners modified the ssuspension, so now it's hard (almost too hard for our roads). All the consumables (brake pads, oil, brake fluid) are pretty recent so that saved me a lot of headaches. The thing that got me though, was the rear tire, REALLY worn in the center. So I said screw this and got a Sport Demon :D.

Isn't a sleeper something that looks common (like my bike), but will blow past you like you're not there?
If I wanted to make it a sleeper I'd stick a 750 in there like the buddha. I'm not crazy enough to do it, mostly because I'm more or less a beginner

What I like about this particular bike, is it's almost uniqueness (at least in the western world). It seems it's a gray import from Japan. But for the life of me, I can't figure what is a JDM spec bike doing in Romania.

^ not 750, 650 as in GR650. And the knucklehead still doesnt have it running yet  :icon_lol:

Muahahahahahaha ... its now a pile of parts waiting on frame mods ... and it will be followed by a powdercoat ... muhahahhahahaha ... while I get that motor in the actual GR and run it, while I fix the GR's leaky base gasket.
Cool.

Best representation I have right now. The tank's back on, and it runs great.  This weekend I'm doing the fiberglass work to restore the chin fairing and headlight fairing I bought from patrick, and hopefully will get the front fender painted.  I think I may pull the tank off and take it to get painted rather than rattlecanning the metal.  Still trying to decide what color I want the bike to be in its final iteration...its flat black with clear coat right now.  The tail section was my first attempt at rattlecan painting.

Sorry for the crappy camera phone quality - so not like me.  And here's my beauty.  She's lost a little weight recently...(jenny craig diet - it takes support)
Most recent thing I've done is the paint.  It was pretty nasty and rust stained and corrosion nastiness everywhere ('96 and probably outside most of it's life (second owner))
I've still got to paint the front forks, the tank, and the engine, but the rest of her is painted.

today out in the parking lot at work...

Built to look like a straight pipe, but it's not quite.  It's got a decent amount of welded in diffusers to reduce the sound.  It's probably just on this side of legal, loudness wise.  Never had a problem with cops.

Here's 3 vids on youtube of the sound idle/reving and driving and some more angles.  This was all before I painted it, so it's still got the charcoal frame, and silver swing arm, and random other things.

Today was a beauty of a day in Kissimmee. I think we are about in to our afternoon rains or will be very shortly. I know Sunday after church I should be free. Gotta go see Jesus ya know!

Shoot me a pm and we will get together soon!

Malatesta

Ha.  Currently my bike is (and has been) in the shop getting re-done.

Long story short, last December my neighbor's cobag son decided it' be a good idea to basically ram my parked bike with his car.  Knowing that I was home, he also thought it'd be a good idea to flee the scene when I ran outside screaming "WTF!".   >:(

He was cited that night by the police for leaving the scene of an incident and I haven't seen him driving since February.  Ha.  He's 31 by the way, yeah just feel pity.

His insurance, after he refused to cooperate, paid me out $1300, which was nice considering the bike was less than 6 months old.  The rear fairing was all cracked up and also sort of other mostly cosmetic damage.

In turn, I'm taking this opportunity to get it converted from "F" to an "E" (for some reason, nearly 100% of friends and family all prefer the "E" look to the "F", lol).  The shop was able to track down all new "E" parts including the headlight, mount, blinkers, mirrors, etc.  I'm saving roughly $400 from the $1300 estimate, so that's cool.  Sure, coulda done some of that myself but this way I know it's basically a new "E" from the shop.  Plus I'm getting a 15T rear sprocket added.

Should be finished by Tuesday, at which point I'll add an F-16 windshield (streetfighter type) and some engine guards.  Can't wait to finally ride again!
