ok so ive been working on my bike for some time now trying to get it running right. awhile back i bought the lunch box air filter. I have the stock exhaust though so the jetting usually suggested hear isn't working right. I tried 140 mains with 40 pilots. ran horrible. so i decided to go back to stock. i bought 125 mains and kept using the 40 pilots. well i couldnt get it running right. it didnt have a very smooth power delivery until about 7K rpm. i decided to put the lunchbox back on with the same jets. What do you know it runs better. i have the airmixture screw 3 turns out. How come everyone suggests not running the lunchbox?

Only half of the people here suggest not running the lunchbox.  The other half think those people are crazy for not running a lunchbox.

what jets do you run with the lunchbox with stock exhaust, and how many turns out

I think that "everyone" you are referring to are those who have stock pipes and run lunchbox = it may give you hard time to get this thing running properly! (a lot of air coming in, not much going out - you get the idea; it's not impossible to tune it properly but it may get time consuming)

The rest of us who use lunchbox and love it probably have some sort of aftermarket exhaust (free flowing) - it's very easy to get it running properly with this combination!

PS. check this thread out: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=35237.0
there is tons of combinations with opinions on how it runs.

good luck
