I kind of doubt a gear area would have prevented this thread. If a similar thread just happened, you should tell them to use search. If people are already not reading a few pages down on this forum, what makes you think they'd read some whole other area before posting here first?

Fred, this thread is specifically geared toward a quieter ride, not just a good helmet---this thread also included which ear plugs work best. The other thread mentioned here would not have answered any of my questions. I'm surprised at you, you are usually a little more open minded about these things. Perhaps you didn't notice the word "Quiet" in the heading, and neglected to read my narrative.

I think a gear thread would just be good to have anyway. I mean there's lots to talk about concerning gear, and it would definitely benefit those just starting out. Plus I mean, we could have gear reviews and stuff all sorted out nice and neat into one section. Just my two cents.

If this thread is so redundant and boring Mary, I'm wondering why you took the time to expound on the noise issues that you have had to deal with, or for that matter even respond to it. I see you didn't respond to the other thread, and I see that it fails to mention the main theme of my thread, which is dealing with wind noise.

Not interested in that --------low noise level, quieter riding, less hearing damage, lower DB level------how much clearer and more specific can I get. None of this was mentioned in the other thread.

Oh Really, Mine is not noisy at all, however the wind can be very noisy at times. Certain brands of helmets and earplugs can substantially reduce that noise, thereby making for a more pleasant ride.

By-the-by anyone prone to ear infections or balance issues needs to be very careful about ear plugs, in some cases they can aggravate problems.
