Yeah I'm very lucky to have a bike at such an early age. I was going to get a Kawasaki650R but the insurance was too high.

Last spark plugs were whiteish at the tip so I assume lean?? I sometimes get the old pop from being lean. I shift at or about 9,000 each shift.

No fuel leaks that I know of, I just know at about 140miles I have to fill up or switch to reserve.

so you rev it to 9k every shift?  that would be a big part of your problem, I would guess try shifting sooner, and see if that helps your mileage

spirited riding or not if your only getting 30-35 mpg your doing something wrong like riding the brake all the time im getting over 50 mpg with 14/45 gears 160 rear tire im 250 plus the wife and thats 2 up riding.  you may ride spirited but your gs wont run that spirited no matter what your doing.

No, I have been into the low 30's. It is all about how you're riding and where. If you're riding in hilly areas while commuting and learning how to ride, you can end up with some seriously bad gas mileage. I now get mileage in the mid to high 40's pretty much all the time...

Wow 13,000 miles!!! I have only 6,000!!!

Ha, my bike will break 89,000 miles this week. Not all my miles, but I do what I can to put them on. My car was my first vehicle. I've had it since I was 18 and now that I'm 26 I've put a 110,000 miles on it, all my own driving. They add up fast if you like going places. There was also that 6 months or so I had a girlfriend who lived 500 miles away. Just close enough to go for the weekend...

Yeah, I mean I like going fast and like hearing my engine purrr. Thus getting bad fuel mileage.
