45 second post limit really necessary?

That post limit is ridiculous!  Why do I need to wait 45 seconds between postings?  I'm sorry I can use the computer better than some cavemen out there, but do we really need to worry about someone flooding the boards with posts sooner than 45 seconds?!

i don't like the post-whore meter either. sometimes i have short posts to multiple topics but it takes forever to get them done because that 45 second delay error message actually costs me alot more time than just 45 seconds. i think it's crazy really. oh, well, what can you do?

It's an anti-robot measure. Spambots we don't need. Either think more, or go grab a beer and think less - either way the time will pass. Not wasting your time in the 'farm might also help with that.
