Wait, is the GS500 a fairingless GS500F, ie the GS500E is coming back?

It almost makes me wish we had some engine size regulations like other countries do, because I love all the small displacement bikes I see around the internet that really don't exist here. If I'm going to spend as much on something like a gsxr600 I'm probably going to start getting picky, and spend way too much money because you feel like you crossed some kind of line and have expectations, as that tends to be the line where people consider something a real sportbike or a beginner bike. In my opinion this cbr400 looks way better than even the current ninja250 does, just because no one takes that class seriously enough to put any effort into it, and I don't blame them..... but I would ride the hell out of that thing. It's unfortunate too for people who would like a nice bike, but just don't feel comfortable on something that big. My wife isn't that tall and doesn't have that much upper body strength, and unfortunately that only leaves her with 2 real choices, the ninja or the gs. Both of which I've had, and really like, but it'd be nice to know you had other options.

^^^^^^^^ That is one good looking bike.
IF I COULD FRAME MY MIND---WHERE WOULD IT HANG ?

Or I guess considering the forum I'm in, you guys would prefer the GSXR400rr.........

I'm picturing mini streetfighters with renthal bars and ducati tails! Unfortunately I know it'll never happen. Stupid country.

On a side note, and the last pictures I'll clog this board with(promise). ARE THESE THINGS SERIOUS?! Are they street legal with their headlights and turn signals to register as a scooter?!! I would ride one of those things everywhere!

It died a quiet death in the UK and several other European markets when the `Euro-III` Emission legislation came into force on 01/01/07. I can see something similar happening in the US when TIER 2 finaly comes into force and legislation finaly catches up with it.
If there was a direct replacement or even an updated version in the pipeline that met E-3 or T-2 requirements it would have been made available by now.
Suzuki, like all the other manufactures will be far too busy working on brand new designs that meet the forthcoming Euro-IV (due 2012) and Euro-V (due 2015) to even contemplate spending time, money and effort reworking the GS engine to met E-3.
