Picked up a 92 the other day. Traded for a set of beat up rims I had. Bike doesnt look all that bad, has scratches and a dent in the tank, and the headpipes are rusted. PO said it needed carb work. When I went to look at it, it started for a second and gas come pouring out of the exhaust so I shut it down right away and took it home. I am not new to working on motors, be it car, motorcycle, 4 wheelers, I have done it all. Got it home and cleaned the carbs out and it started and kinda idled. was looping up and down and couldnt give it throttle or it would die. I got on here and did ALOT of reading and tore the carbs back down and got into the serious work. so far this is what I have found wrong with the carbs.

1. O-Rings missing under Diaphram cap.
2. one carb had no spring retainer for the needle
3. other carb had needle installed in this order  (bottom up) spring retainer, spacer, needle, small nut to act as spring retainer (yeah I know, nice)
4. one bowl has the drain JB Welded shut
5. the breather from the carbs, top T was hooked up to the vacuum line on the petcock
6. mixture screws set at 1 turn out

I used the Clear line from drain on bowl to set the floats (had to use one bowl to do both due to JB Weld referred to earlier), and now the right side is dead on. The left side, I set it and it is dead on, but if I wait a few minutes and close drain with it hooked up, it slowly starts raising, then starts leaking out of the mouth of the carb. Needles look to be in good shape, needle seat O-Rings were replaced.
If I take the bowls off and hold the floats up by hand and blow into the gas line, I can not blow past the needles. Any suggestions?

hings I need for the bike to get it on the road, if anyone has some parts for sale CHEAP or by donation, let me know. I am laid off right now so this is a NO budget project....haha.
I need.
1. Kickstand spring
2. Taillight harness with sockets
3. One turn signal with lense
4. Piece between the 2 side panels that covers the mounting screws above the taillight
5. Mirrors
6. Clutch lever

I have a little money stashed in my paypal account that the Fiance doesn't know about so if you have any of the above for a SUPER deal, let me know.

Yea you're gonna need all em carb parts.
I sell some for $5, and others free ...
Diaphragm spring - never ever ever ever ever sold one of em ... its free.
Float bowl. $5. If you cant clean out that JB weld. Maybe its hiding a crack ?
Needle e clip - pretty sure you can spot it at a hobby store types.

O ring set $10 and I am sure you can find it too at some auto parts if you dragged the carbs down there and matched em.

The rest of your post, I didn't even read but yea those parts are not that hard to come by ... someone here got some of em ...

Cool.

best bet for the parts is looking in the for sale section. There are always alot of people with spare parts that they are giving away for nearly nothing.
K&N Lunchbox, Jardine Full Exhaust, 15T Front Sprocket, 40T Rear Sprocket, Shock Racing LED Mirrors, LED front blinker, LED Integrated Taillight, Additional LED rear blinkers, Scorpion sealed Battery, NGK Iridium Spark Plugs, Cafeboy seat cowl (in process of painting)

already got all the carb parts and put them in, except the bowl, I will live with the jb weld for now. just can't figure out why it keeps flooding out

got her running last night! the float problem ended up being a fleck of sand in in the needle seat. cleaned it all out again, put it back together and fired right up, no choke and idled great! it was too late to take it for a ride, I have no taillight, no plate, and I was running it off a dirtbike gas tank. it fired right up and revved  out nice.
I still need some parts to get it street legal, posted a post in the for sale section, so if you have parts let me know.

Is it that you have a broke clutch lever or no clutch lever? I have one that is bent that would be yours for a little help with shipping! Sorry, already gave away my turn signals!

mine is just bent. it was curled pretty bad so I put some heat to it and "straightened" it the best I could. pretty wavy but functional.
