I would like to switch to the lunchbox. Why would it possibly be a bad idea?

because you'll need to do an exhaust and rejet, so more money. Other than that I love mine....

K&N Lunchbox

Carbon Fiber Exhaust Can, possibly shortened and relocated
And so on......

it isn't. Were you hoping we would talk you out of it?

Ok, it's $35, plus about that again for the jets. A few hours of your time, all for ~2 HP. And you might screw up a perfectly good running bike if you do it wrong.

Lunchbox is dirty and can wear out the motor sooner.
The K&N in airbox could be almost as bad. Clean and oiled foam catches more crap than anythign in the world. I'd do UNI for longevity.
Cool.

As for sucking up water, I've never had a problem with mine. It is well shielded by the frame and tank. And I have ridden in torrential rain in North Queensland's tropics for hours on end with no problems.
