That is how bad its been.
In 05, and 06 I sold 10 bikes in the calendar year, and in fact 05 started early, in feb I sold my 48K mile 89 GS for 675 bones.
07 I sold 4 being a bad year cos I moved to houston. 08 I sold 3 moving back from houston. I sold one in houston in March in 08.
Today is the 1 year anniversary of my 93 GS sale. Pics of it here - http://picasaweb.google.com/srinath.the.man/KatFEPics#

Anyway, crazy life but I am working on making a few this year.

On a related note - any one want a cruiser - have a nice maxim X, a virago 1100, a 2000 savage etc etc ... all run like a top. savage - you get a choice of body color too - silver or coffee with cream - bloody hell looks like you want to lick it.

I have a nice savage chopper I am building. Come over and ride it and see ... KX250 front end, 7 degree raked triples machined fomr 6061 1.25 thick lower and 1 in top, harley risers, hand made front disk from steel pipe, and all else stock. Ok, using the stock front headlight and a GS500 fork brace to carry it hung off the underside of the top triple ... oh yea ... that old cobbled together look ... may look stupid without being bobbed ... so the rear matches the fron's cobbled look.

I dunno, it may look better cleaned up nice, but that is to be determined after I do it, ride it and see if it will indeed be better left ratty.

I could dig on a savage.  Though, I'm on the left coast.  So it ain't gonna happen, buddha buddy.
Silver 2003 Yamaha FZ1 Rocketship.

I may make a couple extra raked triples and sell em.
So the plan is this ---
1. Buy a savage that been front ended.
2. Buy an 82-87 KX125/250/500 that been rear ended. You need fork legs, disc, caliper and line, wheel and axle only.
3. Buy the buddha triples.

Then yank the stem out the savage lower triple, press em into the buddha lower triple and slap it back together and ride on.

Chopper here I come.

I wish I still had the 89 you traded/sold me ...

The Buddha

Me too ... you had a sugar plum blue - its actually a suzuki color and they put that on my 87 savage ... that bike turned out great as well.
Valves, carbs and tank rust if I remember. Yours was that repainted deep blue right ?

I wish I had both of them, and I wish I had that black one - an 89 which I bought from a dude near DC as well. There was another on in richmond where I bought it, worked on it in his driveway, fixed it, test rode it and got it home, and sold it the very next day or the day after ... some like that, it had a grey to gerrn color changing paint ... which sounds tacky ... but the green was very dark, almost like british racing green and the grey was steel grey ... almost the same as the frame. Beautiful and a wee bit understated. Wish I had that too.

Anyway, I sell em, and I have to move on ... as the 16 GS'es would be nice to have kept. My 48K miler was another biggie ... had to sell for $$$ ... and I had it for 10 years and ran 40K on it as well as 7 crashes. In the end, it looked great, was rebuilt after all the crashes to near stock plus all the mods I made, and it still ran well. A measly 675 bucks ... but yea 48K ... about worth it for both of us ... but it had mods out the wazoo ... including a lindemann front end, that I wanted to tear apart and see what was done to it ... but never got to.

Cool.

Don't whine about not selling bikes unless you market them man.  ;)

You should start out with something like....

"SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!  Come to the Buddha's Bike Heaven. Conveniently located off Exit (fill in the blank) in (fill in your town). No reasonable offers are turned down!"

BTW, where are you living these days?
