Video on how to set your forks and shock for proper sag, preload, rebound etc...

I was cruising the interweb super speedway last night and came across a post someone else had on customfighters.com.  There was a link to a video about setting up your suspension properly. The video shows the proper way to set your suspension (based on a GSXR). The main reason I thought about posting the link here was to help anyone (like me) who didn't fully understand why it was important to get this set properly or how to check your suspension. Very informative.

I love customfighters.com, that website is awesome, and some of the bikes kids have on there are amazing. I can't wait until I get some cash saved up so I can buy something and make one of those. I've messed with the GS quite a bit, but nothing I would say qualifies it to be a streetfighter, as I know people who spent a lot of time and effort on their bikes aren't happy when they see a pretty standard bike with dirtbike bars and a couple missing fairings being referred to as a streetfighter.

I can definitely get some use out of a suspension video as well. My last bike had all kinds of suspension adjustments. I think at one point I tightened up the preload on the rear, but after that I never messed with it for the years I had it, and I guarantee it wasn't ever set up right. It never bugged me though. Atleast I can save money buying bikes with non adjustable suspension, because I know I wasn't going to adjust them anyway.

Yeah, I absolutely love some of the ideas I have seen on customfighters as well as on here. Just some amazing ideas to make a bike "your own." What really gets me going is that I think to myself "I want to do all of that" but in the end, it seems the GS is only going to be what it is. (What it should be for me is a great bike to learn on again, and good fun transportation while I am doing that.) The one thing that I also realized was that I won't have to rely on what I see in a shop but as I learn how to ride and take care of this one, I will know what I want to find later on that I can modify to the extreme.

The video really gave me a lot of insight into how the suspension should work on a bike the problem being, I am not sure you can get the same results without the adjustment points. So, I guess a GSXR front is in the future as well as the shock that I am going to try to fit. I especially like the part where he demonstrates how the bike should react when both the forks and the shock are set correctly.

Yeah, as for anything good on the internet, I won't be able to see it until I get home, and don't have the states censored version of the internet. Atleast I can get on here during the day, just can't see any pictures peoples post.

Half of those kind of bikes were atleast my motivation to replace the tail on the GS with the 1 seater R1 tail, although I was semi limited since I haven't learned how to weld. Once I do I'm thinking of replacing it with something new. I did however take a grinder to the subframe and cut a ton of stuff off, so atleast I know it's modded beyond the point of no return. 

I like doing work on the GS, but if I'm gonna go crazy making something my own, it definitely needs to have an engine I'm not going to get tired of after too long. Not that I'm power hungry, but I think I just want to know a bike has the power to back up it's looks. Otherwise I'm just sticking a giant exhaust and a wing on a honda civic so I can drive up and down the main strip all night....
