Well I think the bike is mis firing.  I took it out for an early morning ride. It was running fine.  This afternoon I decided to do cut up the fender and install new turn signals.  After gettting everything put together I was going to go for another ride. I cranked it over pulled the choke and then let it run for a little bit and turned off the choke. Then when I put it in gear and started something was wrong.  The throttle was running rough.  It seemed to be lagging in power.  I shut everything off and let it sit for a bit.  I then checked the spark plugs but they seemed fine.  I haven't checked the carbs. Do you guys think the carbs need a good cleaning?  If so can anyone point me to how to get them apart, cleaned and put together?  This is the first time I've worked on anything not fuel injected. Thanks.

I would check the spark on each cylinder first, since it only takes like 5 minutes to do, it would also be the easiest thing to check

The spark plugs were the first thing I checked.  The seemed fine and clean.

There is a good 2 inches of gas left in the tank. This was while the bike was on the center stand.  I tried running it in reserve and it does the same thing. Sluggish around 2500 rpm.

If the problem happened just after you worked on the bike, there's a good chance you maybe knocked a connection loose, check everything you came near!
Also, two inches in the tank is not much fuel, I'm guessing you'd be on reserve. Try it on 'prime' to make sure the carbs are full. If you haven't used reserve in a while, there could be contamination in the fuel lines. Try removing lines from carbs and making sure you've got good flow of clean fuel while on 'prime'. If not clean the filter and add more clean fuel to the tank.
