Here are some pictures of Cornerspeed students at VIR.  And a picture of a squirrel in my yard.  It's all I could get before my camera filled up.

Now, have fun turning this into a discussion on peanut butter, boobs, dogs licking peanut butter off of boobs, or calling me a d!ck.

HEY LOOK, A SQUIRREL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why aren't there any tracks like that near me?  Oh, yeah.  The riding season is three months long. (but I stretch it to 7 or 8)  :thumb:
V&H pipes, K&N drop-in, seat by KnoPlace.com, 17/39 sprockets, matching grips, fenderectomy, short signals, new mirrors - 10 scariest words: "I'm here from the government and I'm here to help!"

The CornerSpeed class is pretty good, according to the corner judges.  (Whatever those guys with the flags at the turns are called.)
These guys were on Day 3, the final day, and weren't doing too badly.  A litle wobbling coming out of the corners, but not bad.

$400 for the class, though.  They rent out leathers, boots, gloves, etc, just gotta bring your own bike.  Supposed to be better instruction that NESBA.
Unfortunately, the instructors and riders that day were ass-heads.  My wife was afraid to get out of the car at the paddock, if it tells you anything.  Basically, squids that can afford race bikes.  Wonderful experience...  Don't think I'll pay $400 for it....

interesting, I have thought about trying to do a trackday at VIR.  But if the instructors are ass-heads and squids run rampant i don't know that i would want to do one there.  Where you riding or just observing?

Just observing before dumping the cash on it.

Bear in mind, I didn't meet all of the instructors, only talked to 2.  Think "over-confident State Trooper as he's walking to your car to give you a ticket".  It may be great instruction they give, but I just can't see myself paying $400 for it.  Licensure safety courses are already bad enough.

The riders... some of you might get along with them.  Seriously, I was in complete survival-mode walking through the paddock, though.  Guys staring down my wife, giving no effort to hide it.  Got mean-mugged for looking at a guy's Duc.  You know the deal.
Instructors got along with them great, however.

On the other hand, the facilities are clean.  The track seems nice (for all that I know...), greens are well-maintained.  For some reason, though, the paddock is gravel...  Maybe for oil leaks?   :dunno_white:
They're finishing up some little mobile homes; I think they're gonna rent them out.  Didn't check out the camping area.

Danville isn't a bad little town, either.  The hotel fees there should be reasonably normal, unless it's a race day (maybe).  Didn't go over to South Boston.

Are you going to the Nationals in August?
If so, they're having a concert on the 14th (Friday, the first day).  They didn't say who's headlining.

The corner judge says NESBA just dumps you on the track.
But, he says the CornerSpeed guys give a lot of classroom instruction.  They take you around the track for a while, pointing out the correct line, not letting you pass.  Then, he said, they let one rider get ahead of them and watch them.  They cycle the riders ahead of the instructors, one by one.  (I think, with everyone else following, lap after lap.)  Eventually, they let you around on your own.

He said they don't bother making you run race tires, just normal headlight taping and safety wiring.

I was all excited about it until I met some of the people, though.
Then, again, you might not have that trouble.  I'm a pretty small guy; they might be too scared of you.  I dunno.

Yeah that doesn't sound like a crowd that I would like all to much.  The track does look nice though and i have seen it once or twice but never with anything running on the track.  400 seems like a big chunk of change to trow down just to go and either be belittled by the people with to much money and not enough sense or just to have to put up with the inevitable small group of guys that just got their bikes and want to go fast without actually learning how to properly ride first.  I tend to no get alone with chuckle-heads very well and it sounds like you experienced a fair amount just watching, not to mention i wouldn't appreciate everyone staring down my wife either, it shouldn't be scary if she wants to come and watch ... not unless i put it down  :icon_lol:
