What I am saying is this is a public forum and from a legal standpoint, it CAN be said that you admitted fault by saying "I was too close to the car"
I was just saying you should edit that out.

Any way, glad you are ok.

An insurance company could never really prove it's really him on the forum anyhow.

My bike is already in an auction, i'm gonna try and get it back  :D

I need to find some of these locally when I'm ready to buy a new bike. I pass an impound lot on the way home and aften stop to check out the bikes through the fence.

I remember all the sheriff's auctions on foreclosed houses when i was looking to buy a house, and was pretty discusted by it all. I would never be able to buy a house off of a bank that took it back from the people they gave a loan to when they knew they couldn't afford it in the first place, even if they were selling $100,000 houses for $3,000. A motorcycle on the other hand.... I'd have no guilt in taking some guys ride if he got it impounded for riding around without insurance and an inspection, or even just a second hand insurance bike that was already paid out.

And they would have to get it from gstwin. And they would have to get documents from the ISP. And then prove he did it, what if he has wireless internet? Someone could be posting as him. He also could be on a proxy or VPN.

And whats that thing that you can't prove yourself guilty?

That thing like the Fifth Amendment?

QuoteNo person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

You're not required to testify against yourself, but if you volunteer the information, that's your choice.  I don't know if the US constitution is relevant here, though.  :icon_razz:

Nothing he said could be proven he said it. And it would cost thousands of dollars to prove he said it. They would have to go to court and get a subpoena for this site to give the IP address, then they would have to get another subpoena for his ISP and most ISP's charge thousands of dollars to give logs of internet usage. I know Comcast charges law enforcement agencies $1500 for logs if they ask for them. Then they must prove that he typed it, which they really can't do unless then they get notice from a judge to seize his computer, which still doesn't prove he typed it :)

There you go ;)

You must be nieve to think that lawyers won't spend $1,000 to save $500!

I get about three letters a week from a collection agency and a phone call everyday for a $3.45 bill. This has been going on for about 4 years now. Imagine how much money they have put into trying to make $4!
