I sold my GS about 9 months ago, and never had the chance to install this.

I had posted this a while back, I thought it was an SV shock, but I was told it is a Katana 600 by The Buddha

It appears to be in good condition. I bought it on eBay a while back thinking I was getting a good deal and I think I paid too much ($80+shipping) :icon_confused:

But I digress... I have no use for it and need money so...I would like to get $50 shipped.

Thanks

Also, I live in Bonita Springs Florida, so if you are local, you can pick it up and save on shipping!

I can send pics upon request. message me for my email and phone number.
Its no Vdub, but it'll do.

Are these really common (other than what Buddah sells)?

When I bought it I fought for it on ebay down to the last few seconds. Now I really wish i had installed it!

The Buddha

Not at all, I have been doing some of those "find to order types" but I've been scraping the bottom of the barrel lately and comming up dry ... where I'd walk away with 2-3 and have 1-2 in store a year or so ago, I am walking away empty ...
Anyway, just a bump for you ... the R6 shock craze not wintstanding, these are proven to be agood upgrade and R6 at best, will be par with kat, of course you can pay more for the R6 and wonder ... and adjust and adjust and adjust ... and wonder more.
Cool.

R6?! wow, things have changed a bit over the last year or so since I was looking to make improvements to my GS!

The Buddha

Its the new flavor of the month. By next month they'll be on somehting else.
Kat 6 is the old reliable ... who wants that, we want some brightly colored weird ass crap with way too many knobs and dials that do nothing.
Yes, I am selling some of those too ... well, there were no kat shocks left @ my favorite wreckers.
Cool.

Hey man, if you've got a GS in your life, you REALLY need to read the Wiki, or at least get familiar with it:

http://wiki.gstwins.com

A lot of collected wisdom there for you, including what fits what, so give it a look.

Swapping the stock / JUNK shock for a Kat600 shock is one of the single best upgrades you can do to a GS; you should ALSO swap the fork springs, which suck just as much as the shock does. The stock parts keep the retail price down, but they aren't worth a damn. The Kat600 shock is higher quality, and provides both compression and rebound damping, while the stock shock doesn't do much more than keep the bottom of the seat from rubbing on the back tire.

We've got several members in your part of the country; stick around and meet a few of them. The GS is a good basic platform, but it can be improved without a lot of time, money, or heartburn, if you're willing to read and learn.

If you've ridden a stock GS with the original crappy suspension, install the Kat shock and you'll quickly find out why you should upgrade the fork springs as soon as possible. Those two basic upgrades change the GS into something you can really RIDE, so best of luck to you.

BTW, when you're ready to rejet your carbs, The Buddha will sell you ONLY the parts you need to do the job right, without selling you anything you DON'T need. He's in Charlotte, NC, so you guys might cross paths sometime in the future. He even does carb repairs / rejetting for those who don't have the time or inclination to do it themselves.

Ride safely, and remember "ATGATT", which is "All The Gear, All The Time"... protective gear doesn't help you in a crash if it is in your closet at home when you need it most. The better prepared you are for problems, the less likely you are to have any.

First post on the board.

If you can hold it till at least Friday night I might be able to swing something.
Dear Cancer, I hate you. You're a heart breaker and a thief. And I want you to give him back, you jerk. Sincerely, Nikki.

Go home, Joe. Sleep well, and comfortable in the lives you have changed.
