Well I was bored today, so I decided to do some stuff I have been meaning to get around to, namely barend mirrors and dual headlights. And since I was getting my creative 'flow' on, I decided to try out a pipe I had laying around that was actually intended for my prelude. It's an RS TYPE brand muffler that I gave like 12 bucks for on Ebay. $4 worth of hardware later and it was on the ol' GS. The sound is amazing compared to my modified stock exhaust, you wouldnt believe the note that comes out of a pipe at 12k rpm when it was designed for use on a car that would never go past 7k. The last pic was snapped when I was just out testing the new headlights, which work far better than stock. Anybody else rockin pipes meant for cars, or am I the only dumbass that would try something like this? What do we think?

is that a pep boys muffler?

i'm liking the gas tank though.

Cheese and rice... .  That thing is huge, that  and its pointing out in right field somewhere. If your gonna keep that monstrosity on there I would suggest getting a 45 degree bend put in just before it so that it points more straight back, but to each his own.....
Current project:
Mmotos full body kit (YOU DONT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM... READ MY THREAD BOOT STATE UPDATE)

And so on......

Looks GREAT in the first picture... until you get to the second pic and realize that you're playing basball on the freeway with the cagers.  Damn dude...  notmy thing.

PS.  who's the girl in the 3rd pic? Topless in the 4th pic?  lmao

I put THE EXACT SAME muffler on my bike, only the muffler was used on my brothers ae86 for a few years, so it was hollow.. i made a new inner pipe out of expanded steel and new packing material out of hero pads (stainless curly scru pads).. sounds good, but i mounted mine pointing far more rearward.

he's right, the bike sounds amazing at high revs.

btw: props to the mr2 wheels on the civic.. i hear those wheels are indestructible.

so i am not the only guy to try this. . . makes me feel better.
and those are not just mr2 wheels, but ones off a supercharged mr2. they are TWICE as strong as standard. they look the same from the outside but on the back of the wheel you can see why. the mr2 got some aftermarket rims so the stockers replaced the steelies on the civic.

I thought about it while I was going through mufflers on my bike, but couldn't find one narrow enough to not look like a kida plastic baseball bat.  I'm sure the sound is great though.

I'm guessing that there aren't too many winding roads in GA? The first time you get into a serious right curve that going to go flying off of your going to have another issue. Kudos for ingenuoity(sp) but not my cup of tea.

as far as winding roads, I live only a few miles from Kennesaw Mountain and there are tons of long winding roads going over it. I am just not one for knee-dragging type turns, I dont like to lean too much because I have had one slide out from under me before so I dont really trust it. It is secured pretty well though, for one it had to be really hammered down onto that pipe and then I pop riveted it into place. It seems solid enough. My rear foot peg, on the other hand, well lets just say its zip-tied in place and has fallen off twice today lol.

I had a car muffler on mine, but took it off after I bought it and installed the stock exhaust.

the stock exhaust is quiet, but after cutting mine off and looking inside I was depressed.. the exhaust comes in and hits a flat wall, then has to weasel its way through a tiny hole to get to the next chamber..  no good for flow. :nono:

once my digital camera works i'll post some pics of my homebrew pipe and its re-buildable nature, and maybe cut apart the stocker so we can all point and laugh.

funny thing is that I was actually trying to bore out the stock pipe when I had the idea to do this. I agree, the layout of the stock pipe is absolutely crazy, ive never seen anything like it.
