valve clearance

how many of you guys actually check valve clearance every 600 miles?

First check only is at 600 miles and then Suzuki calls for 3000-4000 mile intervals after that.  I doubled that to 8k miles for myself and now that I'm down to riding only 10k miles per year I just do it once a year.  Works for me, I've gone 150k miles so far on 2 GSs over the past 10 years.
