Is $2200 Fair Price for a 2002 GS500 w/ ~7900 miles?

Bike has new tires, battery, throttle cable, spark plugs, air filter and oil.  Odometer reads ~7900 miles.  I noticed some rusting around the frame, especially near the bolt areas.  Small, non-parallel scratches on right engine cover and at odd places around the bike (rear fender, left gas tank, etc.).  The end of the front brake lever is snapped off.  Owner claims bike was knocked over in his garage.  The registration/inspection is also lapsed by just over a year.  His craigslist post says price is firm, but in person he said he might come down a few hundred bucks.  Would $2200 be fair price for a bike in this condition?

I would say 1500 is really good and 2500 is no good somewhere in the middle is fair.

I don't think i would pay more than 2000 but that's just my opinion.

That bike?
Not worth $2500.
Maybe, and just maybe $2000.
You should ask him for a "worst spelling in any Craigslist ad ever" discount. :)
The seller can't spell. :) Make me wonder, was he bright enough to at least change the oil and filter and maintain the bike at all?
Buyer beware, as always.

I agree, $2000 is the most I would pay.  I just bought an 04 with just under 13000 miles in near mint condition, really.  I don't think it was ever tipped over, there were a few odd scratches around the seat area.  No rust what so ever, since we are in Phoenix.  It had a new rear tire, needs a front tire soon.  chain is good,  he was asking $2500 I paid the $2500 with him including a really nice scorpion helmet that matched the bike and fit me perfectly.

I paid $2,100 for my 2002 with 2,000 miles on it. I haven't regretted the purchase.
