There is a first for everything and two days ago I tryed changing the oil myself. It went great all up untell the end. I finished everything and was just tightening the bolts onto the oil filter cover when snap i torqued the bolt too much and it snapped the tread in half. How can i repair this problem because the bike leaks oil out the cover and is not ridable. i would either like to fix it or get it temperaraly ridable so i can get it to a mechanic.

this is, or should be on the wiki. your studs are made of swiss cheese or peanut butter, fermented of course, depending on the year.

it takes very, very little to snug down those little nuts. all it's doing is holding the gasket tight really.

use vicegrips to remove the old studd. or, before you start spending more money by the second, take it to a machine shop. they'll have em out in less than 20 minutes. and you'll still have an engine, as a bonus :)
