Quote from: Richard UKAlternatively, think about a crankshaft driven supercharger.  Use the same compressor off the turbo, but you won't need the fancy exhaust pipe work.  Extend the crank through the side cases and drive the blower with a toothed belt.

This won't fix your lag issues.  A belt-driven turbo is called a Centrifugal Supercharger.  The boost maps for those things are exactly like turbos, for a good reason...because it's a turbo.  The belt will drive the exhaust side linearly, but the compressor side is still non-linear in terms of power.  Take a look at the Vortech Supercharger.  It's powerband is peaky as hell: not what you'd want for this.

You would have to use either an Eaton (Roots) blower or a Whipple (Lysholm) twin screw supercharger to have the powerband you're looking for.  I seriously don't think either Eaton or Whipple makes a supercharger small enough for what you're looking for, but good luck!

The plenum has been completed. I'm going to go to an exhaust shop tonight/tommorow and get some prices on a custom exhaust and custom intake out of stainless.  I'm still waiting for some prices for an IHI RHB3 turbo (still think it's the best choice).  My GS is currentley stripped down to the frame only (think I'm going to have it powder coated) and I'm going to pick up the '02 GSXR swingarm and shock that I bought for $500 cdn this friday.  I found a GSXR front end but the guy wants $800 cdn for the shocks and triple clamp, I think I can find a better deal.  Looking for an older GSXR head and oil cooler and an R6 tail section.  This bike is going to look SWEET.  I figure that this whole experiment should cost about $3000-$4500 cdn I'll be sure to post some pics and info as I go along. Can't freakin wait. estimated time of completion: well at least hopefully by next spring.

P.S. Anyone who thinks I'm mentally challenged for doing this....your probably right but what the hell you only live once right boys.
