I'm thinking of changing the rear on my GS. Does anyone know what bikes these rear ends are from?
How hard would it be to install one of these?

KasbeKZ

those are both custom. no factory makes a rear seat with a sharp point at the top lol.

I don't know where the seats are from but I sure like the dual exhaust! I wonder what that sounds like? Anyone ever hear a set up like that?

drincruz

the top bike i believe is seamax's right?

the tail should be aluizio's gs-r kit. http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=24014.msg245857#msg245857

I wouldn't imagine it sounding that great, with one cylinder to a pipe. Couldnt have any backpressure either, but I guess that depends on what muffler you used. With a small displacement parallel twin it doesnt seem like the greatest idea to me   :dunno_white:

Try dropping down to 4 Oreos and set your pilot screw 3 turns out.

The dual setup is mine. She sounds like a Buell, it is unbelievable how much attention I get with that exhaust sound. Some not good...I've had cops follow me home.  :D

If you do a search for my name there is sound clip somewhere but my digi camera sound recording does not do it justice.  There also a few threads on my build.

And it is not a cylinder to a pipe, I kep't the stock cross pipe (H-pipe). You do lose some back pressure...that's why you rejet.

JB848

I kind of figured you kept the h-pipe. I've seen your bike before just never notices the dual set up. I like it. It looks very good. I'll have to do some more reading to see how you did it.

I found your link needs to be longer though :) sounds pretty good!

It is from the gs500r kit. I got the first prototype which accomodated dual undertail exhaust. Since then I've changed the exhaust to an underbelly one and filled in the holes with caddy tail lights. They don't make them anymore. They now have gxsr tails for the gs. Mainly a gsxr fairing kit for your gs. I think Chanse just got a kit from them. Check his thread for updates.

Alright, I was thinking that it was just two straight pipes. Now I can imagine that sounding really good, what kind of jetting you use for that setup?

None of their links work. It kind of reminds me of a Yamaha R1 or GSX-R Rear.
