Impulse buy

Pretty confused at the moment. I was watching some cbr f2 rearsets on ebay as they were only about $5. While I was waiting for the auction to end I started looking through the other stuff the guy was selling just to kill time. I didn't win the rearsets, but I did however end up buying these.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250477078069 I do like riserbars, and those things are probably safer, not to mention easier than drilling the top clamps on your bike, best of all they were only $1. The only downside? I DON'T OWN A CBR F2.

It was just an impulse buy. I don't mind F2s, I wouldn't mind getting having one. They're half decent sportbikes that you can get for pretty cheap. I don't think it would be my top choice for an only bike. I'd rather find something a little newer and more powerful to make a naked bike out of, but I definitely wouldn't mind a small faired bike with clipons just for weekend back road rides, two up rides with my wife or whatever else, although I don't have the cash just to start a sportbike collection at the moment. I don't think I'd put the riser bars on a bike with fairings though. I know Heather likes naked bikes, so if I got it for her to ride I might pull the plastic off, but she likes clipons, so again no help there. I just can't win.

Oh well, I'll see what size forks they have. I'm sure you can use them on a couple different bikes. Otherwise I'm sure I can just resell them someday, but still. The bars are a little bent, so maybe I'll see if he'll cut the shipping in half if I just take the clamps and save him the hassle of packing up the giant bars.

alright, so....

cbrf2
cbrf3
vfr750
vtr1000
cbr1000f
ex650R (kawa)
zx10 (88-90)
bandit 400
katana 600/750/1100
sv650 (99-07)
yzf600 (94-95)
fzr750

They all have 41mm handlebars, that makes me feel a little better, they shouldn't be all that hard to resell if I decide to

They all have clip on's too ... tubular bars aren't that great, none of the cables reach on a clip on fitted bike.
Cool.

I remember always wanting them before. I at one point put some on my old bike, but took them off after about 3 days. I just couldn't really get used to it. I'm not sure what it was, it just didn't feel as great as I thought it would...

I don't think I really gave it a chance though, it just felt different than what I was used to. I also used to spend more time going too fast on back roads, riding too fast on the highway, and giving kids a hard time who had wings on their cars, and clipons were really better for all those. I've since calmed down quite a bit and think I'm ready to give them another try.

I also hated the stock bars on the GS, but they also came up a lot, and had a ton of back sweep. I eventaully need to get another pair of dirtbike bars so I can put them on the GS again just to have a back to back compairison between the clipons.

The brake cable is usually the only one you can't make fit. A lot of the other cables just need to be routed differently.
