So yea I am making all the stuff @ my house already get good and out and then new stuff ...

Sorry to hear you lost your day job.  Bummer.

When my daughter got laid off, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise.  If you calculate the money she saved on child care for her three kids plus the unemployment check, she is actually coming out ahead.  Yesterday, she got word that they qualify for a restructured mortage that will lower their monthly payment by like $1200/month.  The credit card companies cut them a deal too.  As soon as she said "laid off" and "can't make payments" in the same sentence, they reduced the interest rate for them.

You may want to check the options you have in your state.  I personally don't like these bailout programs but if they're going to give out money anyway, and you qualify, you might as well get as much as you can to ride out the tough times.

Welcome back.  Sucks don't it.

I've got about 3 months left until my unemployment checks stop.  It's been a nice "vacation" from working.  I still can't believe I WASTED 8.5 years at that hellhole, only for them to treat me the way they did.

I never had any debt to speak of except my house which is @ 5% on a 15 of which I am 6 years in and have hit extra 100+ each payment ... when Idiots say they're buying sheite to build credit history, I laugh. I have excellent credit and I never have got debt to get it.

Anyway, I am getting bikes and bike parts done now ... no stopping that train. Tommorow all the GS stuff gets mailed. The bars for greemstick, the stem for ineedanap, the repairs for others the this and that ...

Then I get the stack of carbs that are mocking me ... I show em who's boss ... - I figure by tuesday night this should be done and dusted ...
Then I do jetswing's GS for sergeremi ... 1 week kiddo, thanks for waiting patiently ...

Oh, today was savage day, tommorow it leaves ... booya.
Chopper is prowling the streets now, I plan to show and sell it in the next few weeks.

Then we attack the GR. Split and send for powder, then refit. Done double quick ...

I am actually hoping I dont have any time ... I need to look for a job and get it and start ... yea yea carbs going out etc etc, that is tommorow ... I also have DMV trip and this and that ... yea all tommorow.
The thing is, if I get a jb now, I may make it OK, I get laid off around november I can get all these bigger projects done and I'm good. If I dont get a job before November, I wont find one till january ... PITA ... I am better off getting one now, working till end nov and prolly losing it then and stay idle till mid jan.

BTW there is tons of regulations comming down and the banks have to implement tons of BS ... has to be translating to jobs in a little bit.

Cool.

you know, with the unemployment rates so high, unemployment offices are complaining that they are over-worked and can't complete all the paperwork fast enough. why not give some of the unemployed jobs in the uneployment offices? isn't that simple supply and demand?  :dunno_white:

Well, Universal is trying to Buy out Stephen Spielberg's contract which means huge restructuring! Did you know he gets 2% of every ticket purchase here in Orlando, California, Dubai, Singapore, and any new parks opening in the future! Not to mention his base pay to make movies. They say 30 mil is a drop in the bucket and no one knows if he will even bite at any buy out esp. with the clause he can't go across the street and work for the Mouse!

I know I'm good through Halloween but Nov 1 well  :dunno_white:. Tourism usually gets nailed hard in a bad economy but our profits went up 37% so fingers crossed becuase very few people will hire a sick person!

Buddha, you are obviously a man with talent - work for yourself - if I can do it after 33 years of working for a multinational then anyone can it just takes a change of mindset, change, not good, not bad, just different. - Go for it and good luck to you.

First take some time to catch up on the cricket, it's an interesting year so far.
Black Beemer  - F800ST.
In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??

I really would rather do software engineering as a job ... not as a business. I may do bike stuff more and well ... sell ...
Software and bikes seem to have enough of an opposite thing built in ... so I am never left in the dumps by both.
Now I just have to brave the heat and the rain and get bike stuff made.
Cool.
