Yeee-haaaaw

gonna try sanding off what I can of those scratches, then install that bad boy...mmm. All for less than what a new Cobra slip on would have cost me.

I emailed an Ebay seller parting out a gs500 to let him know about our board. He thanked me and offered me some parts at a good price, including this exhaust (because his buyer had just backed out of deal due to shipping costs). Turns out he's local and I just drove over to pick it up.

I love good Kharma. Thought I'd share some with y'all.

Ok spill it.. what did it cost you... I just bought a similar one for ~66 + 10 off ebay and turns out its ID is same as the stock headers OD. Love it when things fall into place.
Cool.

Well I bought the full system, not just the muffler can.

Full system + K&N pod filter cost me $190. I figure its a pretty good deal since I was prepared to pay $160+shipping for a cobra slip-on anyway.

OK You can take it apart into 2 pieces and I believe you can stuff it in a large backpack and carry it to Pkasso's place. You were worried about riding un jetted. So you can avoid it altogether.
Cool.

the badge polishes up real nice, but i contacted yoshimura's sales department and they will send you a new one for a little $ if you call and tell them the measurement from hole to hole. congrats! i'm happy because i paid $150 for the exhaust, k&n pod, and the jets! (but for the time being it's a waste since i just got the bike last month and i'm learning to ride.)

i wonder why mine doesn't say "not for road use"
strange
nothing to see here people, move along

pantablo

Huh? you mean its NOT okay to ride it installed w/o rejetting now?

Yes It is OK to ride with pipe on and not rejetted. Its just as easy to cram the pipe in a back pack and take it there and not worry about it. I have had the exhaust can break off and disappear on the bike.. I know it wont die.
Cool.

On a good day its worth $10-20... I'd leave it in the nearest trash can or gift it to Pkasso (cruel and unusual) or slice off the can and transport it back the same way. Or bring just the headers back, or leave it in the nearest trash can.
Cool.

I've seen Srinath's bike..... it is possible...i have that BOOGER welded exhaust.......
he monkey fisted the tiedowns til he broke off the grab bar...
and he has this weird fetish about loading a bike backwards so he can ride the bike off of the truck...do you know how hard it is to load a bike backwards UP!!! a ramp!!!!!! :o
want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop

The Buddha

That exhaust was spring loaded... not welded... slip fit not weld on. Grab bar... ha ha... Loading backwards is easy... If some one will listen to instructions... Me and gino going to do it and I'll let him post.

that is the way i load mine, just back up to a small hill, landing or other higher place you can get your bike onto, attach ramp to bed of vehicle (truck?), and let gravity do the work. or have 1 stand behind and pull, and 1 in front and push :thumb:
