Is this the same bike?

Well, I put in a lot of wrench time this weekend. Both sprockets and chain were replaced, and in went a Dynojet stage 1 kit with 128 mains. I also had my pipes welded up correctly so that it doesn't look like they were put together by a monkey with a rivet gun. The difference in performance is phenomenal. I am officially more satisfied with my bike than ever  :icon_mrgreen: Pictures:

Try dropping down to 4 Oreos and set your pilot screw 3 turns out.

What kind of gearing did you go with this time? I enjoy the bike quite a bit more since I changed my gearing.

14t front and stock rear. It definitely livens up the bike, and the fact that it now runs on both cylinders (due to the removal of the old clogged jets) only increases upon that. It feels exponentially more stable and fun now   :thumb:

Actually it's a $12 Ebay can. And as ridiculous as it may look, you wouldn't say that if you could hear it.

A great sounding bike is nothing if it looks like crap.

Well I think it looks good so it doesn't really matter. If I went by what everyone else said I shouldn't do based on looks, I wouldn't have a gs500 in the first place.

redhenracing2 kinda got you with that
If I did what all my friends said was cool I wouldn't have spent $700 (or more) modifying a $3000 bike that still cant go over 127mph, although with the modded suspension it handles like crazy.

P.S. It looks a lot better being properly welded up, now you just need a lunchbox, BIGGER jets, and 5* timing advance and it will feel like a whol-nother bike!

The problem is... even HE doesn't think it looks good.  Exhibit A:

Hahaha.  :icon_lol:

I'm all for custom parts and saving money, but that exhaust does look a bit too big. Why not look for a smaller, cheap exhaust?

If you truly do like it, then just ignore my post.  8)

if he likes it then thats what matters right? Redhenracing2 if you like it, more power to you, +1 on doing what you wanted and not following the crowd and being unique.  :woohoo:

I think the original sliders are used in the DJ kit, they just get the holes plugged.

Original sliders used, one plugged and the other has a restrictor with a hole so small that barely a needle could get through.
