Alright so i have a good friend who i convinced to buy a second gs. He was really excited today as we were talking over mods and such. So he started up the bike and the exhaust sounded different from mine. I looked and sure enough it was drilled. Now our bike is already set up lean, my question is does this effect it? Should i suggest a rejet or since i'm assuming it's just the outside baffle ...it's just noise?

cheers

Stock = rejet, more air flow = REJET.

And
Drilled stock pipe = really big lawnmower.

Cool.

Buddha always says rejet because if you're smart you'll get em from him. :icon_twisted:

But he is right, even stock, it's good to rejet, at least US spec bikes.  Although, that confirmation I've gleaned from reading the forums, and Buddha is the most frequent carb poster, so maybe he is running some giant conspiracy.  :flipoff:

What you really need to do is tell your friend that he shouldn't run a drilled part and that he needs to get a V&H exhaust and a lunchbox filter, then he can be sure he needs a rejet. :icon_mrgreen:

rejet is usually a good option.
although if your pipe is stock and you have bike that was made between 2004 and 2009 then stock jets are decent.
if pipe was drilled then rejet is a must.

Gaaa someone is onto the scam ... time to post nudie pics under one of my fake ID's ...

If it runs without running white as a ghost, starts and works fine and doesn't misfire etc then yea run it. But run it in winter to be sure and do a full load throttle chops and plug pulls to be sure.

Acutally i find his pipe sounds alright. I prefer mine but whatever. Buddha what are you charging i might be interested in getting some for myself. I was gonna wait to do the rejet but i might consider it early. So everyone is doing the lunchbox with jet kit 1 i imagine?
