Hey
I'm getting rear turn signals but no brake or running rear light. I think it has to do with some wires up front. Its all messed up and old there and I can hardly tell the colors.. can anyone give me some leads? Thanks!

there is a seperate connector for the tail/brake lights.  check them for corrosion.  assuming you already installed new bulbs   :dunno_black:

Thanks. Where is the connector located? I assume within the headlight housing?
I completely forgot about the bulbs, I'll check on them anyways. I know I wired them back funky after taking out the whole assy for a track day. I didn't think I was going to need to keep it street legal :(

the connector I am talking about is under the seat, on the brake side, 4 wires in, 4 wires out

If I remember right, I had rear light issues when my front park lights weren't hooked up. I'd check what Jeremy told you first though.

Bulbs are okay
Everything else seems to be hooked up alright
EXCEPT:
The two lines for the "side light" (according to Hayne's manual) are not connected to anything. I don't know where this would connect to since my bike does not have such light.
Everything else works except for the tail lights (running light/brake light)
How should I do these lines?

dwkfym

By bulbs being okay, I mean that I don't see any filament that is broken.

check to make sure the brake light switches are hooked up, then throw some new bulbs in there, they are cheap enough, and are always handy to have on hand anyway

ok I read wrong, so you have brake lights, but no tail lights? they get power from your ignition switch, you can try to disassemble the electrical part of your ignition switch, and clean the contacts

you say running light and brake lights work, so are you talking about no turnsignals?

Thanks for the replies.
I have no brake light nor tail light. Everything else works. Side light contacts are just sittin' (both female, black/white and brown). Bike starts and everything. All four indicator lights work.
I will go buy some tail light bulbs today. Maybe I've been running on one bulb when they were working.

One thing is my blinker indicator on the instrument panel does not work. But that might indeed be the bumb. However, as my signals blink the back light on my tach and speedo flickers too.

I see, I'll start by cleaning up the ground terminal off my battery. Any other grounds? I am such a n00b at wiring.
