Is this thing really going to save my back and my front? I dont see how because it looks so light. Does anyone wear this? please let me know i want to know... This sounds good but i doubt it will be of any good if i am riding 100 mph and fall from my bike...... I would like ur 2 cents...!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and thanks to all the guys that posted all those websites i can get gear from!!!!  :star: :star: :star: :star:

no, not to me. i figure i'm going to slide, and most likely impact something with my arms/legs if anything at all. should i impact with my head while sliding... well, i don't think armor will matter anymore unfortunately.

i say go for skin protection instead, then chest / spine protection.

heck, get one of those neck-brace jackets. (shrug)

I thought I would get some laughs out of that.  I got my jacket from my local dealer for a little over 100, its been through 2 lowsides, and still in great shape

Then save your pennies and get a decent back protector, pants, gloves, and boots that don't flop around in your hands when you bend them back and forth.

damn this is exactly what i was looking for... and its cheap 2... high 5!....

bought the same jacket at the start of summer (white/blue).  Great jacket but it is not for cooler/cold weather as it has no liner and is allows quite a breeze in.

Yeah man, looks like it's a good deal for $100, just promise me you won't go riding around wearing just that over a t-shirt. Aside from protection issues, you'd look goofy. If you try to piece too many parts together you're going to end up spending just as much as you would have on a good vented jacket, not to mention how long it's going to take you to put on and take off 5 different pieces every time you ride, instead of just one jacket. That alone makes me feel like 75% of the people who try that will just end up not wearing all of their gear because it's too much work to put it all one.

NOOOOOO! Serious? its fall now and i want to get it NOW .... what if i wear another jacket or sweater underneath this?

I imagine that would work fine as protection. If you wipe out at 100 mph, you are still only falling 6 feet so vertically, so the impact isn't much more than if you wipe out 30. You just slide further. If you slide into something solid, you're screwed whether you are wearing armor or not. If the jacket or other gear gets worn to nothing sliding along the ground, so what. It will have done it's job.

Get a jacket with decent armor (Newenough.com closeouts, if you don't have a decent cycle shop nearby; if you do, buy from them to support a place that lets you try things on).

Then throw out the piece of Styrofoam in the back pocket and get a CE level 2 back protector.  T-Pro, Knox, Dainese, Alpinestars, and some other folk I'm not remembering make 'em.

The problem is that all these jackets are above my limit.. they are around 300-700.... i just want something to go along for now... and the one i posted above seems reasonable and also if i get some shoulders/knee protectors(they are cheaper) then it will be the same protection i guess?
http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/textile_jackets_and_pants/fieldsheer/congo_sport_textile_motorcycle_jacket.html is $100.  And http://www.newenough.com/armor/back_protector_installs_in_apparel/alpinestars/bionic_race_back_motorcycle_protector.html is another $100.

Done for $200.

I'd say if you can only afford $100, you get a jacket (leather is better, but with cold weather coming, the deals are gone) and save your pennies for a month and get the CE level 2 back protector.  Sign up for newenough's e-mails.  I have two leather jackets that I got for under $100 each.
